Waterfront Beaches Coronado

Beach

Pacific Beach

A classic Southern California beach. It's a very fun and happening area day and night.

San Diego's beaches are some of the most iconic in America — wide sandy shores, perfectly blue water, and that effortless sun-soaked energy that people travel across the country to experience. Pacific Beach captures all of it, with a lively boardwalk, great restaurants, beach bars, and a crowd that knows how to have a good time.

Beach

La Jolla Shores

La Jolla Shores is San Diego's premier beach for water activities — wide, calm, and beautiful, with some of the best conditions for kayaking and snorkeling in all of Southern California.

The water here is clear and the underwater scenery is stunning — you'll find kelp forests, sea caves, and colorful marine life just offshore. Kayak and snorkel rentals are available right on the beach, so no gear needed.

Heads up: La Jolla Shores is the beach — don't confuse it with the La Jolla shopping district, which is about a 10-minute drive away, or La Jolla Cove, a separate scenic spot also about 10 minutes south that's famous for its sea lions and dramatic bluffs. All worth a visit — just know they're three distinct destinations.

Beach

Coronado Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches in the country — and one of the least crowded for its size. Coronado Beach stretches wide and long along the island's western shore, backed by gorgeous historic estates and the manicured lawns of some of Coronado's most stunning homes.

The sand here is famously fine and golden, and the whole scene feels effortlessly grand. A short stroll up the beach puts you right at the doorstep of the iconic Hotel Del Coronado — making this the perfect beach for a lazy morning followed by lunch at the Del.
